Billy Long was a ridiculous character to put in the role of IRS commissioner, but despite his lack of qualifications, he appears to have put up a fight when it came to defending taxpayers' private data from immigration enforcement officials. So it is against that backdrop that Rachel Maddow wonders what caused Donald Trump to suddenly remove Long from his position at the IRS and ship him off to be the ambassador to Iceland. - Aired on 08/11/2025.

He can target, is why he wants data. A few audits and back taxes should put some politicians in line. We didnt have a lot of time to stop this guy, he has nothing left to live for beyond overthrowing the usa. Might as well get as much blackmail as possible.

Kumbaya, everthing is gonna be alright, dont be so negative on our democratic leaders. They literally slow walked us into this shit.

Tricky had his Enemies List and had the IRS target some of them for audits. Instead of jail time Nixon got a pardon.

The Republicons, the self proclaimed law and order party, rewards criminal activity. Scooter Libby was involved in outing CIA agent Valerie Plame on orders from Darth Cheney and W Bush. Scooter's sentence was commuted and rich Repub donors paid his fine. He ended up at the treasonous Heritage Foundation.

More recently, supposedly the friend of ALL cops, Donny, pardoned the Jan 6 insurrectionists who attacked the cops defending the Capitol. Yet, 77 million voted for the stinking rat in 2024.

Too many voters are brainless morons.
