Dangerous new MAGA lie: Republicans SMEAR peaceful protesters as 'terrorists' - All In - MSNBC

“Trump and the MAGA cronies know there are likely to be millions of people in the streets on October 18th for the No Kings protests. And so their strategy is to preemptively paint patriotic, dissenting Americans as literal terrorists,” says Chris Hayes. - Aired on 10/10/2025.

Chris covered the topic well.

The Republicans have their propaganda talking points. They are putting targets on our backs.

I expect them to send in infiltrators and instigators - we expect it. We will remain peaceful...because it is our nature.

Paid protestors - What a joke!

Anyone who goes to these protests will see the grass roots of the phenomenon in the creative signs.

They plan to send in troops to manage the "violent protests?!" It would have been a much better idea to send in troops to manage the actual violent protests on January 6th! What is it about TFG that he seems to accuse Democrats of the illegal behavior that he and his insurrectionists were actually guilty of?! And now he's going after John Bolton for stealing classified documents?! All of us remember those boxes stacked up to the ceiling in his bathroom! Good Grief!

Exactly, they are the kids on the recess yard - "I know you are, but what am I?"

Mr. Dahlia said - I know why he's building the ballroom...so he has a bigger ballroom in which to put the classified documents.

Making everyone vote on the same day? (I voted early during the last election.) Or cancel voting altogether? Who knows with him, he gets more paranoid and unhinged every single day.

And also with him, remember that his excuse was that he said he declassified those towers of classified documents with his mind?? He was unhinged then and he's demonstrably worse now. But who is qualified to take his place?? Yikes!

We have more tough days ahead of us.

Some in this country are going to suffer immensely...and some are already.

Community is one of our strengths. The protests represent that community...and so does DU.

Thank you for being one of the builders of the DU community. You have a gazillion posts! I'm still a new arrival.

Who obviously has taken full advantage, like giving him a truly warped vision of Democratically run cities and pushed his own demonic agenda. And I thought we were relatively safe here in the mountains of northern New York, but I found out last week that a nearby restaurant has cut its hours since the place was raided and employees taken away. And a friend told me that the same thing happened up north - small town! - and that local restaurant has had to shut down completely!

And I am extremely grateful to DU, I have made friends here and have access to the amount of news that not everyone gets. As for my post count, I've been here since 2003, was a DU.2 moderator, a DU.3 host, and have served on MIRT when I was able since 2013, so that explains my numbers. I have always voted, but never paid close attention until 9/11 which scared the #$&! out of me, so I was lucky enough to find DU to catch up!

Ben does a great job of reporting and chronicling. Painful to watch.

Meanwhile the attacks are on everybody, including journalists...despite a court order. The attack and abuse of the photojournalist in Chicago this morning was beyond the pale - but I use that expression too often.

And I know exactly what you mean, it's like a bad dream or a scary movie - but it's with us in our waking hours and we can't turn it off. I can't help wondering what so many would think - or actually believe - what's happening. Like my Dad, or Paul, the closest I had to a grandfather (he was my beloved grandmother's "significant other" for the last 12 years of her life) my grandfather died very young). He was a real patriot, gave back and followed the news closely (while I'd often nod off) until he died on Christmas Eve 1998 at 101.

To tell the truth...I am terrified. Of course I will not let "them" see it but I am feeling like Paul Revere yet Americans are not heading the warnings.

I'd like to post a DU poll to see what other Dems are currently experiencing but I think I am too afraid to do so. I feel like I am sinking without a life raft. I do not want to be negative but I am sooooo upset I can't see straight. I wish I were dumb and ignorant and living like many citizens are. Ignorance must be blissful.

If it comes down to being a militant than I will be one of them. 3 months ago at my birthday dinner my sister said that if means taking to arms to fight for our country, she will be right there. We never discussed this before so I was sort of surprised. I am the activist in the family.

But then I'm almost grateful that I am who I am rather than Barack Obama, Hillary Clinton or Nancy Pelosi who experienced the front lines and have more understanding about what's really going on and also reasons to fear.

And I'm also grateful that I'm paying attention and can appreciate that all of us have reason to fear. I'd much rather be like that than some poor individual who is suddenly surrounded by ICE when they take a walk to the store or pick their pick up from school (I saw a video about the latter this afternoon). And we both also have DU where we're surrounded by kindred spirits and so we're prepared and there truly is power in numbers.

I will take any support I can get. I just wish I had a Xanax the size of a football. Actually a dozen Xanax would not be enough to keep me calm these days. I wish my little dog were still alive. I need kisses, hugs and tail wagging more than ever.

And I miss him so much, I've always had a dog since I was 11 or so. Only my first pup (cocker spaniel) and my last dog (Brussels Griffon), I'd had since they were puppies. In between I was also lucky, I adopted older dogs who somehow found me and I wouldn't trade any one of them. So suddenly being dogless is hard. But my friend's daughter rescues cats and offered me Nicky who reminds me so much of the cat my grandmother had when I was very little - the difference is that my current cat really likes me.

15. Mine died 5 years ago.

I have had dogs in my family since I was born. My 91 year old mother's dog suddenly got cancer last July and within 3 weeks she was gone (only 11 years old). She adopted another dog. Since she will probably die after my mom dies my sister convinced her to adopt an older dog (my sister will end up taking over her care).

I have had "visits" from both of my dogs after they died and my dad visited me with one of my dogs 10 days after she died at 17. It was really cool. Spike still visits me after 5 years. I make sure to document the visits since they happen when I am in between asleep and awake so I force myself to wake up, write the experience down and remember it the next morning. We had a very strong bond. I have done some research and this is a lot more common than I realized.

A vet tech at my vet's knew my other dog, a little Brussels Griffon who I adopted at age 9 since his owner had died (at 97!). And my Jack was a pet shop rescue and the same breed as my other dog so she thought of me - and I certainly couldn't resist. I liked having two dogs since I had a pup to commiserate with me when I lost the other dog, I don't deal with it well. This is the longest I've been without a dog.

And none of them have ever visited me as much as I miss them. My only experience like that was with my Dad quite some time ago. He died on November 30 and his birthday was January 22nd. And that night the smoke alarm went off in the house though no one was cooking. And after we dealt with that, the horn on my father's car which was parked in the driveway went off (it was late!) and no one could stop it. It was anxiety producing at the time, but I like to think it was my Dad on his birthday.

He was loud and clear so you would notice. They seem to want to communicate with us and reassure us they are not really gone. They want to comfort us and help with the loss and pain.

I've seen many NDE videos about pets and people visiting us after they die. From what I've learned the reason pets visit more often than people is due to their level of energy. It seems that everything is energy, which can't be destroyed, only changed so it is always there in one form or another.

I'm an atheist but my own personal experiences make me acknowledge that something is going on after we die. We won't know for sure of course, until we do die, but I am convinced. Too many "odd" occurrences can't be ignored or brushed under the rug. Also, the NDE people all say they see their pets and loved ones while they are "out" of this level temporarily. I can't wait to be reunited!!!

And I would love to see each and every pet I've ever had again. I think about them all the time. I visit the cemetery every week to light a new candle for my Dad. And I always include my/our pets in those I ask him to say I'm thinking of every one of them.

My Dad was the animal lover in the family and I learned from him. My mother was the daughter of immigrants and was a latch key kid so she never had pets growing up like my Dad did. She was just expected to look after her younger sister.

And I'm not sure what I believe, I grew up in the Church, but my beliefs have changed over the years. Yet I miss my parents and my grandmothers, too, the list has gotten longer over the years, and I like to think I'll see them again.

And it all begins with the way they're using the word anti-fascist. They are going to try to raise the anger of their supporters in order to justify dehumanizing the Left and doing away with our right to Speech and other freedoms.

I think the middle of the roadsters are finally getting sick and tired of this BS.
Too late, morons. We know who and what YOU are and we will NOT forgive and forget.

The fucking moron is a vengeful POS but I am just as vengeful, if not more so. I get MAD and I get EVEN!!!!!

"It's the economy, stupid". Didn't James Carville say that a zillion years ago?!? It still applies.

When their Dear Leader cuts their income and health care they suddenly become concerned in government functions. Look at horse-face Marge. She didn't give a shit until this personally effected her own family's health insurance.

God, I hate the MAGA hypocrites with a passion!!!!!!
