Republicans try to bury Jack Smith's deposition to hide their embarrassment, Trump's disgrace - The Briefing w/Jen Psaki

Republicans on the House Judiciary Committee apparently thought they could help Donald Trump's cause by attacking former special counsel Jack Smith in hearing. Their failure in that endeavor is evidenced by them trying to bury the transcript of Smith's deposition over the New Year's holiday when as few people as possible were paying attention.

Michael Feinberg, former FBI official, talks with Jen Psaki about Smith's clear explanation of Donald Trump's criminal culpability. - Aired on 01/02/2026.

Hits national teevee he starts to invade a foreign country. Tearing down the WH wasn't enough.

He's already made enough enemies across the world, I can't imagine how our former allies will react to this attack on a foreign nation...

(Assuming we can find a pair that would stay on...)

BTW, he is planning a press conference at Mar-a-Lago Club at 11AM, heard that on MS NOW.

If something has happened to somebody on the other side of the planet. I heard a rumor that some radio transmission is playing 'Swan Lake'.

If the puppet master is gone, what then of the puppet(s)?

There's supposedly a government in waiting, but the felon-in-chief may have removed the leader, but the rest of his government still exists. They were talking about that on MS NOW.

And I can't believe, after all he's already done to alienate and anger the American people, he has the effrontery to hold a press conference at Mar-a-Lago at 11AM to boast about the regime change in another country that he secretly orchestrated.

No, not what I meant. When regime change happens in ruzzia, the score to that ballet plays on the radio as a signal that something serious has either happened of is about to. There are rumors that pootin is no longer.

If that is true and idiot45 knows it, he'll burn it all down and take everyone with him so why not start with one of his pet wet dreams of late? If there isn't a strong demand for his removal, we're in for a big ugly mess on all levels.

And I'm likely one of the few here that's actually been to Russia, actually the USSR. My grandmother joined a peace group in the late '80s which had a "sister town" in the USSR and she asked me to go with her/them on their first visit.

Of course I thought my sensible Nana had lost it, but I could never turn her down. So I went and it turned out to be the trip of a lifetime (literally, I obviously could never go back now), I loved the group, all senior citizens except for one lady and me, we met with other groups dedicated to peace and even people on the street were happy to meet Americans. But that was under Gorbachev who had instituted more progressive policies, totally different from today.

And I certainly agree with you, he should have been permanently removed after January 6th, but according to Liz Cheney's book, only 10 Republican House members voted yes on impeachment, others were too afraid of being primaried or subject to retribution. She said that if the vote had been anonymous, it would have been overwhelming. And one of their excuses was that he'll be gone soon, anyway.

As far as I'm concerned, attacking another country to orchestrate regime change, this is worse than January 6th, and he sure isn't planning to leave anytime soon, but will the Republicans go for removal this time? From what I heard on MS NOW, some in Republican leadership knew what he was planning for Venezuela (John Thune, Marco Rubio?) so are we expected to put up with his revenge and lawlessness for another 3 years? I don't want to even wait for the midterms, he's just too dangerous.
