Al Jazeera is Qatari STATE media (where the press has limited freedom) and is rated as having medium credibility, due (in part) to failed fact checks. It is also rated as having a misleadingly extreme editorial bias.

Media Bias/Fact Check
Overall, we rate Al Jazeera Left-Center biased, based on story selection that slightly favors the left, and Mixed for factual reporting due to failed fact checks that were not corrected and misleading extreme editorial bias that favors Qatar.

6. Nothing in that paragraph from Wikipedia in the OP was in disagreement with your initial post, so what is the issue?

We haven't declared an excursion against Qatar have we?

In fact we're spending million dollar missiles to defend them, they have the largest U.S. military base in the Middle East, but their news network is off limits because they favor their own host nation?

Al Gore apparently trusted Al Jazeera enough to sell Current T.V. to them.

How much of our corporate sponsored media here in the U.S. favor corporations over people, does Media bias grade that?

potato farmers in Idaho have seen more substantive information regarding what's happening in Gaza than the Israeli people living just a few miles away.

Such is their censorship, they won't even let journalists into Gaza to even see what happened.

Just don't expect to see any puff pieces about Israel. In fact, I haven't seen them do any puff pieces about anyone.

Their in depth reporting of stories from Africa to SE Asia is stellar.

If you want to know what's going on outside Europe and the US, check in once in a while. It's old fashioned repiorting that doesn't use loaded language to create bias.

I also recommend France 24 and DW streaming.

Doing otherwise only leads to ignorance, and mindless fear: which in turn feeds societal rigor mortis, whether it be a political party, a nation or a bunch of nations.
