Epstein's island was so horrific, one victim tried to swim away

For guests, Epstein’s island was a Caribbean dream; for victims, a nightmare with no escape. CNN's Kyung Lah reports on what files released by the Department of Justice reveal.

... but I'm glad that Epstein is dead. I'm not glad that Trump and his minions will get away with it.

about Epstein's death because he never faced justice.

If Virginia Guthrie actually committed suicide, I can see how watching the U.S. enable the primary predators in her life for so long could lead to such depression.

As for your last sentence, I don't believe it's over until it's over.

... but the Orange Menace has gotten away with so much for so long that I find it hard to be that optimistic. The big question is, WHY are people so afraid of this malicious imbecile? I know that republicans have been in on it from the git-go, and that they are devoid of any sense of honor, but what has he got on them? Must be pretty bad, whatever it is, but his idiot minions are even worse, because they'll actually carry out his threats. But he's at least once removed from their actions, so he thinks he's safe. Charlie Manson thought that, too.

A few years back (pretty sure it was under Bush Jr.), Karl Rove made the statement that their goal was "a permanent Republican majority." The Democratic Party would still exist, we'd just never be able to hold power again.

I think Republicans saw Trump as their path to that, so they were willing to overlook and justify ANYTHING that normally would have destroyed any other candidate. Their mistake, of course, was thinking they could control him once they got him to power.

But we all know what happens when you try to ride the tiger.

... has metastasized into is beyond reprehensible. These bags of rancid rat excrement shouldn't even exist. They've always been liars, thieves, and occasionally murderers, but this bunch are flat-out traitors. Julius and Ethel Rosenberg were executed for less than what these evil bastards have done, and are planning to do. Yeah, I'm looking at YOU, Russell Vought, Stephen Miller, and that simpleton in the White House.

They're all going down, and I hope they die in agony. I just wish I could be around to see it, but I turn 80 next year, so I don't even buy green bananas anymore. Little dark humor there.

The critically important factor to which they neglected to assign appropriate importance was his life-or-death obligation to his REAL boss, Vladimir Putin. He's the Sauron in this version of Middle Earth.

They wanted to rule forever, like you said, but now they'll just rule over the ashes, as Sun Tsu said of such vermin. I hate them all with every fiber of my being.

Sorry for the explosive anger, but it burns hotter than the surface of the Sun these days, and it doesn't take much for it to go supernova.

Edit to add: I remember Tom "The Hammer" DeLay making a similar statement about a permanent majority, and he ended up on Dancing With The Stars. Not sure which is worse, that, or being dead.
