Related: About this forumCNN's first reactions to Trump's Iran war address - CNN The Source
Donald Trump, in his first address to the nation on the Iran war, told Americans the war is nearing completion, and projected another two or three weeks of involvement. Weve done all of it. Their Navy is gone. Their Air Force is gone. Their missiles are just about used up or beaten. Taken together, these actions will cripple Iran military, crush their ability to support terrorist proxies and deny them the ability to build a nuclear bomb. Our armed forces have been extraordinary, Trump said.
Trump also used the opening moments of the speech to criticize his predecessors, claiming that US presidents who came before him should have handled the Iranian regime before he took office. We dont have to be there. We dont need their oil. We dont need anything they have, but were there to help our allies. - 04/01/2026.

but the US is not crude oil independent. There is a difference when talking about oil.

I never watch CNN.

(255,595 posts)4. I did think that was worth posting, but I don't watch CNN either.
As is probably obvious, my news site of choice is MS NOW (previously MSNBC). I used to listen to both, but back in 2005(!) I was listening to John Kerry speaking live before the Senate - when they suddenly cut away to show a video of some RW pundit, "for balance," they said. That did it for me.
And apparently those who I used to watch are no longer there. Didn't Anderson Cooper recently quit, and we know that Don Lemon is no longer with CNN - the only other one who I remember watching and liking was Fredricka Whitfield. I looked her up and she's still there.
