Brennan Center's Elizabeth Goitein: 'I worry that (FISA) abuses were the tip of the iceberg' - Velshi - MS NOW

Congress just punted reforms of FISA, by extending a key provision that allows the government to engage in warrantless surveillance. “This administration has gutted the internal oversight mechanisms that are supposed to ferret out and report abuses," says Elizabeth Goitein of the Brennan Center. "This is a system that has always relied extensively on self-policing by the executive branch instead of judicial approval. That danger is so much greater now." - Aired on 05/03/2026.
