Iran FM Araghchi: No end to war without Israeli withdrawal from Lebanon - Al Jazeera English
At a press briefing for diplomats in Tehran on Monday, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi confirmed that the memorandum of understanding (MOU) with the United States includes a permanent end to the war on all fronts, including Lebanon. He said the announcement of ending the war was released on Monday morning, but the official start of the MOU will be on Friday. Araghchi stressed that the end of the war in Lebanon is "quite connected" to the end of the war on Iran, and that the two fronts are inseparable.
Araghchi stated that the parties to the MOU are the United States and Israel on one side, and Iran and Hezbollah on the other. He warned that "without retreating and withdrawing from the Lebanese occupied territories, there will be no end of the war." He added that any future military attack by Israel against Lebanon "will never be accepted" and that the continuation of Israeli occupation of Lebanese territories constitutes a violation of the MOU. - 06/16/2026.
