Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy claimed on Monday that Russia lost 35,000 military personnel in December. Speaking in his nightly address, he said that "In December, 35,000 occupiers were eliminated – and this has been confirmed with video footage." "In November, there were 30,000, and in October, 26,000 eliminated occupiers," he added.
The statement comes after national security advisers from Europe and other allies visited Kyiv on Saturday to discuss security guarantees and economic support, as a U.S.-led diplomatic push to end the war in Ukraine intensifies. Zelenskyy, preparing to travel to Paris for a meeting with partners, said Saturday that work on the peace proposals could now accelerate as Ukraine has shared all documents under discussion with the 18 national security advisers, including those on security guarantees. - 01/06/2026.
