Trump voters abandon Trump in shock update - Another Day - Brian Tyler Cohen

BTC: Today, Trump's supporters are turning on him for being Trump. This is just another day.

As anyone over the age of 30 can tell you, when you get older, your mind starts to wander. In my 20s, I could finish a New York Times crossword puzzle in under 10 minutes. But yesterday, I tried to play Wordle. Suddenly, it's 10 hours later. I'm standing in my bathrobe in the middle of the 405 freeway, holding my iPhone over my head like a boom box with zero idea how I got there. My point is, I'm sorry, what was I talking about? Oh, right.

Uh, my point is, back in 2024, a spry 77 year-old Donald Trump campaigned on a platform of lowering gas prices, curbing inflation, bringing down the cost of housing, essentially making life better for the little guy. But two years later, I'm starting to wonder if America's almost 80-year-old withered husk of a president might be losing focus. Take for example today's check-in from the Oval Office.

Trump: You see that beautiful milk? That's what we're here for. We're going to be discussing milk and whole milk and how good it is.

(cut to studio)
BTC: You ever heard of this stuff? Milk. It's incredible. And you're not going to believe where they get it right out of a cow's penis. You ever see a cow's penis? It's like four penises in one. Very impressive from the standpoint of size.

In addition to the taxpayer funded hours that Trump has spent exploring the wonders of milk during his second term, he's also paved over the Rose Garden, kidnapped Venezuela's president, bombed Iran, launched a war on higher education, and tried to buy Greenland. All of which, coincidentally, have also done nothing to make life better for the little guy. Trump's little guys, though, it's been pretty sweet for them. {photo of Trump family displayed}

Still, according to CNN's most recent polling, some Americans are sick of waiting for Trump to deliver on his promises.

Harry Enten: He has just fallen off a cliff when it comes to generation Z. Look at this. Donald Trump's net approval rating in February of 2025. John said it right. Wow.

John Berman: This was actually a month into the administration.

Harry Enten: This was a month into the administration. He was at plus 10 points on the net approval rating. He was on the right side of ledger. Look at this. Falling off that cliff. That is a drop of 42 points to negative 32 points on the net approval rating amongst generation Z. My goodness gracious. This, as I said, is a very swingy group and it has swung very much away from Donald John Trump.

BTC: Trump's lost the youth vote. Quick, learn the renegade dance for Tik Tok. Uh, tattoo 67 on your ass. Dump Melania and start dating a K-pop demon hunter instead. Or, I don't know, uh, uh, put out some random gross, probably untrue fact about yourself and uh, see if that sticks.

Fox News Outnumbered Host: I I saw this morning, actually, it was Dr. Oz who said that President Trump has the highest testosterone level of any man over 70 that he's ever seen. But you compare President Trump to someone I mean any of the Democratic male leaders, someone like Tim Walz, if you will, you know, Mr. Jazz Hands. You ask any 20-year-old boy, especially on a college campus, who they would rather spend a day golfing with, President Trump or Tim Walz.

(cut to studio)
BTC: Absolutely. When it comes to a golfing partner, the higher the testosterone, the better. Honestly, if he has to use a club to hit the ball, his tee is too low.

Still, I don't think what's hurting Trump is just that his priorities are completely out of step with the general population. I'm also willing to bet it has something to do with the fact that lately it's really scary to live here. And nothing seems to have made as chilling an impression as the weaponization of ICE in cities like Washington DC, Chicago, Los Angeles, New Orleans, and most recently Minneapolis. Why? I don't know.

Maybe because in addition to muscling their way into schools to detain children, smashing people's windows and dragging them out to their cars, and let's not forget literally murdering American citizens, they're doing shit like this:

(cut to video showing the use of tear gas canisters in a crowd)

(cut to studio)
BTC: That was a car full of ICE agents throwing a tear gas canister out the window of their government issued SUV as they drive away from protesters. It's not to protect themselves, not to disarm a violent situation. It is to gas the people who piss them off as they leave, to terrorize them--domestically. I don't even know what you'd call that. If only there were a term for when you torment or terrify fellow citizens right in your own country. Alas, words fail me.

Now, obviously, those are some terrible optics. And after the tragic death of Renee Good last week, common decency would dictate some sort of recognition of loss or softening of rhetoric, but instead, the Trump administration of course is doubling down.

(cut to video)
Tom Homan: And we're adding more resources, more law enforcement officers to that city. And and one of the parts of that increase in officers that city is to arrest the people who cross that line. People who violate 18 USC 111, interference, impeding, assaulting. We're going to have a team of people there who's going to concentrate on that. So, we're going to continue to arrest those agitators. And I'm pushing hard. Let's let's let's let's post agitators on TV. Let's announce every day who's been arrested for interfering and pleading with with with our officers. Are we arresting illegal aliens with no criminal history? We absolutely are.

Mike Johnson: ICE is doing what ICE is designed to do by its very name. It's Immigration and Customs Enforcement.

(cut to studio)
BTC: Look, I think the time has finally come for Mike Johnson's son to let his father jerk off to some porn. I understand that these are God-fearing people, but this is a matter of national security.

Now, clearly, a lot of Americans don't see eye-to-eye on immigration. Still, the administration's casual attitude toward cruelty and deadly violence when it comes to enforcing immigration doesn't seem to be working for a lot of people. And if you don't believe me, just ask a guy who I barely ever agree with.

(cut to video)
Joe Rogan: You don't want militarized people in the streets just roaming around snatching people up, many of which turn out to actually be US citizens that just don't have their papers on them. Are we really going to be the the Gestapo? Where's your papers? Is that what we've come to?

It's also very ugly to watch someone shoot a US citizen, especially a woman, in the face. Where it's like, I'm not I'm not that guy. I don't know what he thought and again, this is a guy who had almost been run over.

(cut to studio)
BTC: That is Joe Rogan. The guy who got famous by kicking the out of other men, then parlaying that fame into hosting a show that inflicts literal torture onto people for sport, saying that he is horrified by the Trump administration. When you've crossed Joe Rogan's line, it's time to take a hard look in the Koch mirror.

Of course, besides being the literal personification of blood lust, Joe Rogan also famously endorsed Trump in 2024. The guy's got huge MAGA clout. So, to be denouncing his tactics publicly doesn't just indicate that Trump is losing support, it's also a likely catalyst for further dissent, further erosion of support.

But here's the thing that I actually don't get. Of all the broken promises Trump made on the campaign trail, a brutal crackdown on immigration is not one of them. A whole decade ago, Trump deescalated his way onto the political scene by calling immigrants rapists and murderers. In 2024, he campaigned in front of a sea of mass deportation now signs. What did Trump supporters think mass deportation was going to look like? Did they think that he was going to fly everyone back home first class? Because it's one thing to be had when the guy who shits on a golden toilet, who time after time stiff the working-class contractors who work for him says he's going to represent the common man.

It's obviously bullshit at least he went to the trouble of bullshitting, but when your entire public persona is brown people bad, white people good, you don't really have a leg to stand on when he acts on exactly that. I guess what I'm saying is while it's genuinely heartening that fellow Americans are showing their basic humanity by being horrified at what we're all witnessing, how did they not see this coming? The 77 million people who voted for Kamala Harris did. Trump showed his supporters who he was time and time again. Why didn't they believe him? Because you know how it looked to the rest of us.

(cut to video)
Joe Rogan: It just looked horrific to me.

(cut to studio)
BTC: Yeah, exactly.
