Let's talk about Trump, bunkers, and Iran's inventory.... - Belle of the Ranch

Well, howdy there Internet people. It's Belle again. So, today we're going to talk about Trump being wrong about Iran's inventory, portable bunkers, and what it means.

Trump and his administration have repeatedly claimed that Iran is almost out of drones, missiles, rockets, and so on. If you listen to Trump world, the Iranian government is on the verge of running out of everything. Just Thursday, Trump said Iran had “very few rockets left.” He went on to exaggerate about success when talking about taking out almost all of their munitions. "The problem with the strait is this. Let's say we do a great job. We got 99%. 1% is unacceptable because 1% is a missile going into the hole of a ship that cost a billion dollars.

Here in the real world, where the status of Trump's month-old war isn't decided by whatever nonsense Trump tries to speak into existence, assessments suggest that the majority of Iran's missile and drone inventory is still intact. The assessments put it somewhere between 60 and 70% intact.

While the administration is pointing to a lower frequency of strikes by Iran as some kind of evidence that they're winning, it seems like Iran has slowed their operational tempo to avoid burning through their munitions the way the US has. An incredibly clear indication that Trump is misleading the American public about the progress of the war is a posting for a contract opportunity on SAM.gov, which is giving us a little bit of insight into the possible futures in the Middle East.

The US military is seeking solutions for portable bunkers to be shipped over to the Middle East. These would be structures US forces could seek shelter in during missile or drone attacks. The listing says, "The USG is seeking information from vendors capable of providing prefabricated transportable hardened shelter systems designed to protect personnel from blast and fragmentation threats."

That part could be routine. But as the listing goes on, it becomes very clear that the need for the bunkers is both immediate and related to Trump's ill-planned adventure in the Middle East. It says, "All proposed solutions must be deliverable to the AA air cargo terminal at King Hussein International Airport in Akaba, Jordan. Vendors are requested to submit three potential delivery options reflecting estimated timelines of 3 days, 15 days, and 30 days.” This isn't routine. It isn't unrelated.

Here's the part that needs to be very clear. As Trump considers continuing his mistake by escalating into a ground war, it is clear the US military is not adequately prepared for Iran's missile and drone capabilities. The lack of preparedness will only become more pronounced if the US enters into a ground war. Before the boots hit the ground, there is a request for portable bunkers.

The administration knows it is not adequately prepared for this. Don't let them pretend like they didn't know the troops were at risk later. The knowledge that troops need additional protection may not slow or delay any potential ground operations because let's be real, they don't care about the people they're putting in harm's way. The priority for the timeline won't be the safety of the troops. The priority will probably be the global economy Trump messed up by starting this.

Anyway, it's just a thought. Y'all have a good day.
