When the Dems win enough seats after the midterm elections, the first order of business must be to pass legislation limiting the use of such weapons by the President. Even now it may be too late to stop Trump and a sycophantic military from deploying a low yield tactical nuclear weapon in Iran. Trump may feel a need to end his war quickly and he thinks his status will be elevated for having won the war. But the unintended consequences of this will have disastrous effects on the entire region and will ripple throughout global economies for years. And there will be a new permission structure for other nations to engage in the pre-emptive use of nuclear weapons started by Trump. Our Doomsday Clock is ticking closer to midnight.
