Perhaps many who've lost faith in the cult were motivated not to vote in the primaries. Regardless, gas prices through the roof, aluminum prices through the roof, (fill in the blank) prices through the roof has got to be taking a toll on voter's willingness to support Republicans. Certainly in the margins. But it's in those margins that general elections are won or lost.

That's the thing about midterm and off year primaries. In many places, the Dem turnout for boring primaries was better then Republicans. But I do get your point. Republicans still can't get that orange albatross off their necks. Too many dead enders who'd rather burn it all down, themselves included, than admit to the mistake.
