ALL HELL BREAKS LOOSE as Catholic Church STANDS UP To Trump! - Really American

Donald Trump is at war with the Catholic Church is now facing pushback from the Catholic Church and Pope Leo XIV over his policies, including his "big beautiful bill", which the church views as a moral failure. The church's opposition to Trump's "immigration" policies is also intensifying, with Catholic leaders actively working to counteract "ICE raids."

Pope Leo's First appointed Bishop in the U.S., Pastor Michael Pham, has been attending immigration court cases and scaring away ICE agents who have been raiding Churches in retaliation. All this as ICE agents continue to hide their identities and lie that they are not invading places of worship despite ample video evidence to the contrary.

1. FINALLY... At least one religious institution is actually standing up for what they "preach/teach"...

I can give great respect to those within the Catholic church making this stand (and I am aware of the SOB archconservative Bishops that still exist that would back Trump in a heartbeat--but they are being drowned out by Pope Leo's policies--at least for now)

3. Doesn't Pope Leo define policy? And having grown up in Chicago must give him an understanding of what's going on now

6. Catholic here. I hope by "sheeple," you're not referring to the people of Jesus's 2,000 year old Church.

Because Catholic clergy and laity follow the doctrine of the Catechism of the Catholic Church, which says:

Page 541
Doctrine 2241:
"The more prosperous nations are obliged, to the extent they are able, to welcome the foreignerin search of security and the means of livelihood which he cannot fin in his country of origin. Public authorities should see to it that the natural right is respected that places a guest under protection of those who receive him.

Political authorities, for the sake of the common good for which they are responsible, may make the exercise of the right to immigrate subject to various juridical conditions, especially with regard to the immigrants' duties toward their country of adoption. Immigrants are obliged to respect with gratitude the material land spiritual heritage of the country that receives them, to obey its laws and to assist in carrying out civic burdens.

Doctrine 2242:
The citizen is obliged in conscience not to follow the directives of civil authorities when they are contrary to the demands of the moral order, to the fundamental rights of persons or the teachings of the Gospel.
Refusing obedienceto civil authorities, when their demands are contrary to those of an upright conscience, finds its justification in the distinction between serving God and serving the political community. "Render therefore to Caesar the things that are Caesar's, and to God the things that are God's. (Mt 2:21)
We must obey God rather than men: (Acts 5:29)

When citizens are under the oppression of a public authority which oversteps its competence, they should still not refuse to give or to do what is objectively demanded of them by the common good; but it is legitimate for them to defend their own rights nd those of their fellow citizens against the abuse of this authority within the limits of the natural law and the Law of the Gospel.
Second Vatican Council

This bishop is obeying God and Jesus' Church doctrine.

If by "sheeple" you mean other "obeying in advance" Americans, I can agree.

And I think that Vance is beyond "saving" - I wonder if he goes to Confession?

17. Vance Is Not Trump

Right now Vance is playing good little soldier, because Trump would make his life a living hell otherwise. At the same time, Vance has power over Trump in one very particular way - he could form a coalition of people in the White House to declare Trump incapable of fulfilling his duty for health reasons - Article 25 section 4.

I do not think it at all accidental that Leo was elected Pope. The Catholic Church has gone down this route before, and I think they recognized that the US under Trump represents a huge danger. Sometimes the pope is ruler of a vast empire, but sometimes the Pope is also called upon to act as a priest to one man. This may be that time with Pope Leo and JD Vance. I am not a religious person, but if I was, I'd argue that God is acting through the church's conclave to find the best man to be the spiritual advisor to the man most likely to become president after the incumbent gets removed from the board.

What makes things SO interesting there is that I have no doubt Trump is aware of that calculus too, and it has to make him both furious and perhaps more than a bit more fearful that maybe, just maybe, God is very explicitly NOT on his side.

7. He's definitely sinning and needs to go to confession daily.

Even if he confesses, if he does not change his ways, "God will not be mocked." And so he might be counseled by his diocese bishop, or even by Pope Leo's emissaries.

15. The KKK started out hating blacks during Reconstruction, then in the 1920s they expanded their hate

to include Catholics, Jews, immigrants and anyone who wasn't a white Anglo-Saxon Protestant. Fred Trump was part of the KKK during its second era of resurgence in the 1920s, Donald is just going back to his family's racist roots. Trump has been persecuting immigrants, last night he was talking about "Shylocks," pretty soon he'll start using the old Klan favorite, "Papists."
