'Weak,' 'whiny' and 'invisible': Critics of DNC Chair Ken Martin savage his tenure

The new DNC chair has faced messy drama since stepping into the role in February.

Rahm Emanuel, former President Barack Obama’s first White House chief of staff, said the committee is floundering. “We’re in the most serious existential crisis with Donald Trump both at home and abroad — and with the biggest political opportunity in a decade,” Emanuel said.

“And the DNC has spent six months on a firing squad in the circle, and can’t even fire a shot out. And Trump’s world is a target-rich environment.”

I have felt from the moment it was announced that he was the head of DNC it was a mistake and he was going to be weak and a disaster.

DNC needs to be strong and raising money and helping excite and generate support for Democrats. This has not happened.

The DNC was considered less than a zero by most Democrats long before now. Jaime Harrison, who got the chairmanship as a consolation prize, was about as effective a leader as a mop in the corner of the room would have been. We need people in there who know politics, fund-raising and effective spending. If we need a figurehead chairperson, then someone who can do the actual work, like Rachel Bitecofer, needs to be working for them.
