The way forward at this point: Drinking, hallucinogenics, escaping or escapism.

I see no practical way forward!

Armed resistance is always an option. But beyond that, it looks pretty hopeless to me...

All I can hope is that is gets better with time. But things are so bleak.

People cheered on Al Green, well. guess what? He's gonna likely lose his congressional seat.

I chose escapism. Which is playing word games, going for walks, spending time with family, watching netflix etc.

DC and the State of Texas are too depressing. Sure I do what I can. I testify at hearings. (over 500 of us did. Didn't do any good. Heard some of best testimony ever. GOP just ignores the VRA)

I protest. (Not much of protester because it doesn't accomplish much, except make me sweat) I keep moving.

I help with local elections and that's the only thing that seems to work. Locally, we're doing OK.

Can't afford to leave the country.

The Supreme Court and Trump's heavy hand are just too much to overcome!

I will make this suggestion: If Trump orders a census, red state Democrats should boycott it to reduce the number of electoral votes for red states.

Move to a neutral country. Live cheaply. Keep one's head done and live discretely.

I really don't know many other solutions. Once fascism and totalitarianism are achieved, there really aren't too many non-violent means to return to democracy.

Eventually, the fascists go after everyone in every group. Then they come to a terrible end once they've destroyed their county. History shows us this is true.

Why wait around and watch?

I am eligible for Armenian citizenship.

A key component of the peace agreement between Armenia and Azerbaijan, brokered by the United States and signed at the White House on August 8, 2025, is the creation of a transit corridor through Armenia that will be named the Trump Route for International Peace and Prosperity

I'm so sick of this shit!!!

I am thinking of renting, but renting can be difficult depending on the country you go to since you are not a native. Also not dumping my pets. They are leaving too.

It is tough, I can’t process the daily assaults on our liberties. I have a small group of activists and we connect with the larger groups for the rallies, etc. I am volunteering in the Labor Day nationwide event.

We write letters, emails, etc. We promote the efforts to save our constitution. We also tend to our wellbeing and health because this will take 50 to 100 years or longer. I do take gummies at night for relaxation and sleep.

But, I can’t roll up and hide. My family escaped the horrors of fascism to provide an opportunity for me. I must do this for my kids and grandson. I’m using common sense and building a community of support. Find a small local group ! it matters.

Don’t despair ! It is horrific and it will get worse. I pick myself up everyday and do what I can.

Very important to send positive intentions to everyone. We may not have anything else to spread our highest aspirations.
We are doing the rallies and work for Ourselves, to show up for one another on the sidewalks . I don’t expect Republican voters to open their minds or hearts.

When the person I vote for loses, it's not the end of the world. Maybe we could support more different kinds of people and win the vote next time. Big tent and all.

We don't need "magic formulas", we just need a simple message and keep on keeping on.

I found a way to get out of Texas via college in Pittsburgh (Carnegie Mellon), then NYC and so on. Now I am in CT and loving it. I am old now and will die here.
