These are my people. I don't know who the MAGAts are. They are not Americans. I know that.
This made me all misty eyed. How did my country go so far off the rails?

As i recall the Lone Ranger (approximately) saying. Of course, Jay Silverheels may not have seen those days through the same rose-coloured glasses as did small middle-class white American kids.
But, as Heather Cox Richardson tirelessly keeps pointing out, there are more of us who believe in the (incompletely realized American Dream) than those who would destroy it
We need to recall that, and just keep moving forward at every opportunity. We are NOT alone

I guess I was one of those lily-white little boys who watched a bit of that series in the early fifties. His personal history is so much richer that T.V. would project - as is, I guess, most of ours also.
