Trump says he won't sign bills until Congress overhauls voting

(NPR) President Trump threatened to withhold his signature on all bills until Congress passes stricter federal voting requirements — a move that escalates his efforts to change election rules ahead of the 2026 midterms. In a social media post Sunday, Trump said he won't sign any bills into law until Congress passes the Safeguard American Voter Eligibility (SAVE) America Act. "I, as President, will not sign other Bills until this is passed," Trump wrote.

Trump Blasted for Golfing as More Die in His War

(Daily Beast) The president’s love of golf has once again found him under fire. President Donald Trump was spotted playing golf at his Trump National Doral in Miami, Florida, on Sunday morning, as updates about the devastation in the Middle East due to his surprise war that began last week continue to roll in. In a video shared to X by the user PatriotTakes, Trump, 79, is seen returning from a round of golf on his favorite course, wearing the same baseball cap he sported during Saturday’s dignified transfer of remains for the six American service members killed in his war with Iran.

Pentagon Announces Seventh U.S. Death in War With Iran

(New York Times) Another American service member has died in the war with Iran, the Pentagon said on Sunday, bringing the number of American troops killed in the conflict to seven. The service member, who was not publicly identified while the military notifies relatives, was seriously injured on March 1 when Iran struck a Saudi military base where American troops were stationed, U.S. Central Command said in a statement. The service member died from those injuries while military health officials were preparing a transfer for more advanced medical care at an U.S. military hospital in Germany, officials said.

Fox News apologizes for showing old video of a hatless Donald Trump at a dignified transfer ceremony

(AP) Fox News apologized for airing old video of a hatless President Donald Trump during coverage Sunday of his attendance at the dignified transfer ceremony for U.S. soldiers killed in the Middle East war, insisting it was an honest mistake. In a polarized time, some online critics suggested without evidence that it wasn’t an error — that the network was trying to make Trump look better by not showing him wearing a baseball cap during what is considered one of the most solemn duties of a commander in chief.

'A very dangerous person': alarm as Pete Hegseth revels in carnage of Iran war

(The Guardian) Hegseth, 45, a former Fox News TV host who now commands the world’s most powerful military, has this week become the face of Donald Trump’s war in Iran. That has set off for alarm bells for critics who warn that the Secretary of Defense – pointedly rebranded “Secretary of War” – has rapidly transformed the Pentagon into the staging ground for an ideological and religious crusade. With machismo, Christian nationalism and callousness toward the lives of US troops, they say, Hegseth’s puerile displays on TV are aimed at sating Trump’s desire for a warmonger worthy of the manosphere.

Trump's cable-news Cabinet tries to sell a war

(Salon) In the first week of the U.S.-Israeli bombing campaign against Iran, the Trump administration has revealed something extraordinary about how it intends to wage war: not just with missiles and drones, but with narrative control so aggressive it borders on parody. Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth‘s turn at running the most powerful military in human history increasingly resembles one of his “Fox & Friends Weekend” segments.
