(28,094 posts)incredibly fast. When I made the OP, I knew the money was there because of the total amount in my available funds. Actually, it was a startlingly large amount of money because my Social Security deposit had also hit at the same time. Within the hour the $1200 was posted, not just showing up in the total of money available in that account.
This is what's so great about electronic banking.
A decade ago I was working at the local hospital. You could get your paycheck by direct deposit, which I did, or by physical paycheck. I was astonished at how many of my co-workers, especially the young ones, wanted a physical paycheck. They'd show up at the hospital around noon, when the paychecks were being distributed, desperate to get it and deposit it. I'd try to convince them that if they did direct deposit, they'd have already had the money, but I don't think they ever understood.
