Inevitability does not equal acceptability.
Neither of us is going to get to decide what is acceptable, quite frankly.
I use to be a $1 per word writer. That ended when paper publications went away. And they went away when they couldn't find advertisers. For computer magazines, that happened when there were only a couple of brands of PCs being made and only a few major software companies.
I stopped writing for the failing computer magazines and started writing website content from start to finish for brand new business websites. I worked with a successful small website designer. I'm fast, good, and flexible. So, that worked out well. Now I'm retired. Almost everyone I knew in the magazine writing business is now retired. That market no longer exists in a way that can offer writers a career. Time changes things. That, too, is inevitable, but not acceptable.
