They even say he was responsible for what is going on in the Donbass even though he was not president during that time, that was Petro Poroshenko. The comments section on Youtube, even in other places like DW, BBC, all that, they have bought into Russian propaganda hook, line, and sinker. Not only that, but people are talking about things that aren't related to it. But again, there are a lot more people/countries that support Russia than we think, and it's not just in Europe and the US.

Although this probably isn't as big of a factor, it still has to considered that Eastern Orthodoxy, like Catholicism, is not seen as "true Christianity" to most of the Protestants. Although not as much as before, Protestant still holds a majority of Christianity in the US, particularly in the southern US. Most people in Ukraine are part of the Eastern Orthodox, which has very different beliefs than that of Catholic, Protestant Lutheran, Baptist, etc. They also observe religious holidays differently.
