Thanks to gerrymandering and blind party loyalty, most of these Rs probably can't lose in the general and don't have to worry about moderating like they otherwise might.

And MAGA and the far right turn out for primaries. To be less than bat shit crazy is to lose the primary. To be bat shit crazy has almost no impact on the general.
