as a white female who grew up poor in a multi-racial urban environment, I had the good fortune* to observe all sorts of struggles many different groups had to deal with. It's really hard for me to take white guys of certain generations seriously when they whine about how tough their life has been.

* When I say it was a fortunate thing, that is not sarcasm, I mean it. My observations in a time/place of great struggle for many different peoples for many different reasons taught me to LOOK and SEE how things connect and the patterns that circumstances and pressures weave to keep some down. I saw how very hard so many people had to work just to survive. That made me a person with curiosity and empathy. Wouldn't have it any other way, but if I had the power to place some people in different situations, there are a lot of white males who would get rude awakenings because I would grant them miles and miles in the shoes of the people I knew growing up.

Fuck the entitled whiny brats who can't get over having to make any effort at all.
