Expecting Trump to be taken down by a scandal is futile [View all]

Even the Epstein scandal. We are too late for that. Trump already controls the levers of powers including shaping the narrative. What are upset MAGATS going to do? Trump does not need them anymore. The GOP will cave to him as they always do. The supreme court has rendered him immune for anything he does during his term that can be remotely characterized as part of his duties (and that's a broad characterization)

Post Trump, even if we retake power, we are not going to setup a Nuremberg style tribunal to go after Trump and his goons because we are apparently too good for that.

No democratic president is going to wield the executive power as broadly as Trump or ignore courts so nothing will get fixed short term. It will take a generation assuming we can retake and hold power.

The only way out is that big macs catch up to him and we are left with Vance which I don't think has the same iron grip on the GOP that Trump does. Infighting would result and we likely would be able to take advantage of that.
