Especially when the scandal has to do with minors.

Remember 2006? I think it was the mark foley scandal that had more to do with Dems taking back power than Iraq or the economy. The housing bubble was at its peak and the financial crisis was still a ways off from having an impact on most people. Sure, Iraq was in the middle of a civil war, but foreign policy usually doesn’t sway elections, especially midterms.

As bad as this ugly nasty bill was, the effects won’t be felt for sometime for most, and not by the midterms. Of course Dems need to hammer at it, but by itself it won’t be enough to move the needle. That’s why Epstein isn’t a distraction and simply focusing on ‘kitchen table ‘economics’ (I hate that phrase) won’t be enough.

Passively sitting back and thinking republicans will implode is wishful thinking. It’s important not to let this fade away for all the obvious reasons (most people don’t know the extent to which Epstein was connected) . Aside from the horrific crimes he committed, this is also a class warfare issue, where the wealthy elite basically can get away with anything.
