22. it's not just trump

I think he is primarily driven by his narcissism. He wants to be all powerful because of this. However, he is lazy and likes to see people battle each other, so he listens to many voices and chooses the worst so as to generate the largest spectacle. When someone gets too toxic they become a scapegoat. Certainly he wants to profit. His greed and fear also help steer decisions. He does have a knack for assembling the largest collection of amoral greedy racists available today to participate in the spectacle, so, it's not just trump. All republicans got him to where he is. They own this mess and they must never be allowed to forget it.
