We started out as a nation of genocidal white supremacists and it's remarkable how far we've progressed since then, in spite of that.

Yes, this is a step back to 1950's style U.S. American apartheid, brought to us in some part by billionaire grifters like Thiel and Musk who are nostalgic for their old South Africa. But it's not like they were bringing anything new to America.

It's not hopeless. Even if we are not courageous enough to stand on the front lines of dissent there are many measures of passive resistance we can engage in.
