Showing Original Post only (View all)What should Colbert do next? [View all]
Over the last few days have seen this topic here and on other platforms. There are several varied and interesting ideas and I thought it might be fun to share them:
1. Run for Office: Many think that it would be a good idea for Colbert to run for political office, either for Senate in South Carolina or President in 28. I'm not in favor of entertainment celebrities running for political office. That's Reagan. That's Schwarzenegger. That's Trump! In other words, that what Republicans do. As democrats we should have a higher standard of who we put up and elect to public office.
2. Netflix: Some are suggesting that Netflix ,or another streaming service, should hire him to do a talk show for them. I'm not too sure about this one. Netflix has already tried doing talk shows and it has never worked.
3. The Daily Show: Jon Stewart does Monday night, Colbert could do the other 3 nights instead of the rotating hosts they have now. Don't think this is a good idea. Comedy Central is owned by the same company that owns CBS who just fired him. Why would he want to work for them again.
4. HBO: There were two suggestions here. One to pair a Colbert show with John Oliver's show for a one/two punch. Not sure if that would just be overkill of the same kind of content. The other is to have Colbert replace the current host of Real Time. Since the current host has become increasingly unpopular, bringing in Colbert might give the show a boost.
So these are the top suggestions, what does everyone else think.
