2. The idea for a Gay Symbol to Rally around came from a straight ally

I was friends with Gilbert Baker and he told me that George Moscone suggested to Harvey Milk that their movement needed a symbol to rally around. Harvey then had Gilbert make the flag. Moscone had experience as a labor supporter.
