(44,179 posts)I really can't recall off the top of my head ever being served truly awful food at a chain restaurant to the point where it was practically inedible.
Mediocre and uninspiring? Sure, I've had my fair share of those.
And there have been times where I have been pleasantly surprised.
Like I said, usually it's average to above average in terms of taste.
In terms of nutrition? Sure...most of it isn't that particularly great health-wise. I wouldn't suggest going to eat out at those places on a daily basis.
But that's not really unique to chain restaurants.
Yesterday, I had lunch at a little hole-in-the-wall family-owned BBQ place that serves arguably the best BBQ pork sandwich I've ever tasted. I don't get there that often, but when I do, it's a real treat.
Yet I can't say that if I went there every day it would have any positive impact on my health and nutrition. Quite the opposite, rather.
Most of my healthy eating happens at home, which is also where most of my eating in general takes place. Eating out is a semi-occasional indulgence.
