(2,838 posts)You are blaming those who disagree with you about religion for this tragedy. That is unconscionable. Would you really have us believe that the gun violence in the US is caused by anti-Christian bigotry?
Christians are not a persecuted or oppressed group in the US. It is quite the opposite. People are free to criticize what you say and do, but you can't handle that apparently.
You say that you really don't care what I or anyone else thinks of you personally. You claim the high moral ground of defending all Christians from some sort of persecution and hatred. Yet you complain that you are being mocked and shamed. To the extent that you are being mocked and shamed - certainly not my intention and I deny that I am doing that - you might be mocked and shamed for what you are saying, not because you are a self-proclaimed Christian.
You have learned to expect it from certain types? "Certain types?" We have all been warned about those kind of people in this world? "Those kind people?" What sort of Christianity is this?
And why beholdest thou the mote that is in thy brother's eye, but considerest not the beam that is in thine own eye?
Or how wilt thou say to thy brother, Let me pull out the mote out of thine eye; and, behold, a beam is in thine own eye?
Thou hypocrite, first cast out the beam out of thine own eye; and then shalt thou see clearly to cast out the mote out of thy brother's eye.
Matthew 7:3-5
