An Astrologer's Messy Affair With a Trump Pentagon Official [View all]

Amy Tripp advertises herself as “the internet’s most notorious astrologer.” Under the professional name Starheal, she offers her followers wisdom such as “Moon opposite Chiron at 3:04pm ET exposes where old wounds meet current vulnerabilities. Something may trigger emotional pain.” She’s perhaps best known for correctly predicting the exact date when Joe Biden would drop out of the presidential race. Now, court documents show she’s been embroiled in a legal battle with an official in Trump’s Defense Department with whom she allegedly had a 15-month-long affair.

On August 22, a John Doe filed a lawsuit against Tripp in Palm Beach County, Florida, accusing her of harassment, bullying, and defamation. In the 17-page suit, Doe claims he and Tripp met on Bumble in April 2024 while he was in the process of writing a book “and was consulting regarding astrological beliefs and related issues.” The lawsuit frames the relationship between Doe and Tripp as “a casual sexual relationship as well as a professional relationship regarding the astrology business.” Doe, who’s described as a recently confirmed Defense Department official and retired from the military, says that he developed “an interest in astrology” and invested in Tripp’s company, Starheal LLC, in exchange for 5 percent equity.

In June 2025, according to the lawsuit, Tripp informed Doe that “the astrological signs told her that John Doe’s confirmation to his position in the Department of Defense was imminent.” Doe claims that, owing to his impending confirmation, he broke up with Tripp via text, saying he intended to reconcile with his wife.
