4. This is so sad and scary. Florida once had the best well child care mandates in the country

This included full vaccination coverage, and regular exams at the intervals recommended by pediatricians, including one at age 18 (which many colleges require especially for dorm residents). Other states had mandates but Florida's was by far the best and most comprehensive. These were covered at 100%, too.

I was a claims analyst in medical insurance at the time and because we sold all over the country we had to follow every state's mandates. Some states only covered vaccinations and physicals up to age 6, some to age 10.

If I am remembering correctly the only other states which came close were California and Hawaii.
