I have no doubt that his sexual activities were absolutely heinous, but he's gone to such extreme lengths to block the release of everything that there must be even more, and even more damaging politically. A big question, I think, is why Epstein got just a slap on the wrist back in 2008, and that almost everything about that plea deal was kept confidential. Why where the federal charges kicked back to the state of Florida as merely two charges of engaging a minor for prostitution? Why did Acosta fail to notify the victims, in clear violation of the law? Why did the plea deal include immunity for unnamed coconspirators/codefendants, and who were they? It could be significant that this all occurred in Florida. And why was Acosta given a cabinet position when Trump became president?

At the time of the investigation into the sex crimes, Epstein had significant investments in Bear Stearns, which was heavily leveraged and finally collapsed in 2007. A month after the fund collapsed, Acosta became involved in negotiating Epstein's plea agreement. Acosta was allegedly ordered to make the deal by "higher government officials," who told him that Epstein was an individual "of importance to the government." He might have been an unnamed witness in another financial case in NY. And somehow Epstein's investment had managed to pay back all of its debt.

Where does Trump come in, and why is he so intent on keeping the files, or at least some parts of them, from becoming public? I suspect it's a financial matter rather than a sexual one because nothing matters more to Trump than money, and we already know that a lot of his gains are ill-gotten. There are still a lot of questions relating to how and where Epstein got his money. Was Trump involved in the financial side of Epstein's sex trafficking? Were the two of them involved in a money-laundering scheme? Follow the money!
