My dad (an Army medic in WWII, btw) bruised and cut the backs of his hands and forearms quite easily from his 60s on. He worked at a Spreckels Sugar factory for nearly 30 years before retiring. During the periods they weren't actually making sugar because rhey'd exhausted that year's beet crop, he often worked in the machine shop, and commonly came home with a new bruise or bandage. It was a bit of a running family joke.

Not necessarily, but the new technology is very good at finding even the small spots. So unlike years ago the blood....

That dandy hasn't done a day's work in his lifetime. He is weak and flabby from a life of dissipation and junk food.
