Perhaps he had a connection to Epstein himself? He probably was as responsible as anyone for Epstein being treated so lightly.

The Palm Beach Police Chief Michael Reiter was so disgusted with Krischer, he called for help from the FBI. It was only then that the FBI got involved (even though several of Epstein's victims had directly contacted the FBI themselves over the previous 10 years or so). The Police Chief even publicly accused Krischer of being too lenient.

When she announced they wouldn't be releasing anything else at the beginning of July, she claimed the tens of thousand of videos they had were all just child porn, and there weren't videos of Epstein committing his heinous acts. However, The police search of Epstein's home found two hidden cameras and large numbers of photos of girls throughout the house, some of whom the police had interviewed in the course of their investigation (meaning he had photos of his victims spread throughout his house and was clearly video recording his abuse of his victims).
