7. Arizona Republicans have deteriorated a lot since the days of Barry Goldwater

It says something that in a red state like Arizona, both US Senators and the governor are currently Democrats. The quality of candidates the Arizona Republicans have been offering has been less than stellar, and that has not escaped the attention of their voters.
