I've known liberal, D-voting couples in which the wife is older. However they make it work is fine with me.

But if Erika Kirk was and is constantly referring to Charlie's judgment, abilities and his feelings, and she has no input at all, that's not a partnership of equal adults. It's a daddy-daughter relationship, or there's some other kind of unequal dynamic going on. Some girls were raised to behave this way, and in many cases their mothers and/or older sisters were also like this.

I'm a baby-boomer and this behavior was expected among younger women in the 1950s and 60s, not so much in the 70s and 80s.
