5. Nothing wrong with letting others take the credit.

If you are lucky enough to reach the sunset years you might understand.
Let a mentor take the credit, your a team player in his eyes. The payoff is down the road. Or better yet, a subordinate. You may gain an allie. Certainly he will never forget.
I'm no fan of the toadies in this regime. But IRL in working for a living? Nothing good comes from being eager to take the credit.
