14. I don't care if my surgeon is a devout religious person

But if he/she is operating on me, I don't want them praying about it. I want their ("God given&quot intellect completely focused on applying all the best science, medicines, and techniques to preserve my health.

If it helps them to privately pray in the morning or before bed, do transcendental meditation, yoga, jog, lift weights, read a book, play WORDL, do Elvis impersonations, or anything else to get their head in the right place for their important life-saving work, I'm cool with any of that. But when you have the scalpel in hand, I'm not looking for a prayer.

And when the Governor has had a crime such as this, dismissing this as a failed prayer request is an insult to every person he supposedly is working for. If he wants to be a preacher, there are plenty of jobs available. That's not what a Governor does.
