The 5 largest ethnic groups in New Jersey are White (Non-Hispanic) (51.9%), Black or African American (Non-Hispanic) (12.3%), Asian (Non-Hispanic) (9.83%), Other (Hispanic) (8.4%), and Two Races Including Other (Hispanic) (6.63%).
I really dislike pitting two groups when few races are decided just by whites and blacks alone. It also ignores the contributions of other races. The combined voting block of non-whites, non-blacks is over 24%. Then there is the factor of voter turnout. Can't find the numbers, but over 50% would be a high voter turnout. Which means over 40% don't vote. They are a significant factor.
