And Medicare and Social Security are funded through different means, not dependent on tariff monies.

Other than the general premise that federal revenue will be decreased as a result, everything else in your post is very theoretical. And don't forget that the GOP controls Congress, and at most, the power to levy tariffs will (rightfully) return to Congress.

Even though it's GOP-controlled ATM, I still trust Congress to be more deliberative than Trump will ever be when it comes to which tariffs to levy.

Also, no matter what scary-sounding consequences one can conjure up, when a literal, practical option involves "stopping Trump from being a fucking dictator", I'll always lean toward that option
