we, the left, did not immediately cry and stomp our feet. We basically said, “Yeah, he’s not going to do anything worthwhile, but let’s see what he actually does.” And he proceeded to completely destroy the foundations of governance. And even then, we weren’t screaming and crying. We looked at what we have, where we were, and thought about how to fix things, within the parameters of the legal system. We didn’t go to the extrajudicial route.
