1. The purpose of those surveys and petitions is *only* to collect your email address for the purpose of fund-raising.

Those solicited petitions and surveys are otherwise worthless. Don't bother with them. If you can afford to donate money to a cause you support, do it; but not on account of those petitions and surveys. I never answer them any more because all they ever did was get me on more email lists asking for money.
