The GOP can't hide the fact that for most people who experience "two days before payday" emergency family shopping for staples like Ramen packs (not the cups) bag of beans, blue lable soup cans and canned veggies have over doubled in price. In just 8 months...
4 for $1 Ramen is around 2 for $1. 1 lb of dried beans, noodles, or rice for $1 is now $2 or more a pound.
Cans (or box/bags) of soup, "pasta/rice meals " or veggies that are typically found between 75 cents a unit to $1.25 are now $1 to $3 a unit.
Cheap frozen bags of veggies? $2 minimum for enough for 3 servings; at dollar stores, you might find small 6 to 8 oz serving packs for $1 - enough for maybe one adult or two small kids.
A 20 oz loaf of generic wheat bread is $2.50, when it used to be $1.50.
Not to mention "fresh -ish" produce and cheap meats and dairy are up by 1/3rd.

Go into a dollar store with $4 or $5 in couch change or recycling collection just to keep you going before the SNAP or Paycheck gets to your account, and you're going to be lucky to come out with a jerky stick or slim Jim, a 6 oz can of soup or veggies, and an 8 oz Sunny Delight juice bottle.

That's the reality to the working poor.
