trump was (of course) threatening to withhold supplies to California, and Newsom managed to play him perfectly: we ended up getting a military hospital ship docked in San Pedro to help with COVID patients (because hospitals were filling up).

Newsom plays chess with trump and the gop.

He's been an excellent governor, I sure hope we can fill his shoes in the next gubernatorial.
