3. Striking down the tariffs would actually probably help Trump more than keeping them

The tariffs are going to be a major drag on the economy as long as they remain in place & they will boost inflation at least somewhat (while doing next to nothing to increase Federal revenues - so no reduction in the debt). The economy is going to be crap for the next year no matter what, but keeping tariffs in place will just make the economy significantly worse.
