3. Why would the Dems capitulate?

Saturday

Democrats just watched as the republicans got wiped out in elections from coast to coast along side polling that shows the public blames Republicans more than Dems for the shutdown. Why on earth would they want to end this when it looks like public support is behind them and the president is fighting to block food assistance to poor people?
