He died several years back, but he was a perfectly wonderful man, and I still miss him. A soft-spoken, wry intellectual, Adrian (his name was Adrian) was nothing like the portrayal of him by Robin Williams in the film. But as long as you accept from the outset that the film is a complete fabrication, it is a funny, entertaining film. During the filming, they would ask Adrian a few details about how something was, say”thanks for letting us know,” and then completely ignoring what he said. Adrian would tell anyone who asked, “if I had done half the things they showed me doing in the film, I would have spent the rest of my life in Leavenworth.”
