...the costs are sunk. Could those secret service & administrative people be put to better use? Absolutely. But, his golfing doesn't cut costs. Even when he profits from expensive hotel rooms for those people at his resort, it's still sunk. POTUS doesn't have the authority to move money earmarked for administrative costs for something else. Nit that he cares about rules.
It's more the appearance of cruelty that golf is more important than people being hungry and "winning" over the dems is the goal, not helping hungey people.
That is, alas, completely predictable.
Obama & Biden would not have gone to recreate during a protracted shutdown, simply because that would be wrong. Doing bad things is not an impediment for Trump.
